“And this we will do if God permits.”(Hebrews 6: 3)
In other words there’s a paradox here introduced by Paul. He asks us to leave the elementary principles to go on to perfection yet he says this we will do if God permits. Why did he say that? He said that to us to show that if our foundation is not well laid God cannot take us unto perfection and this is important.
There are many believers who are crying to know God, they want God to give them this, they want God to increase them spiritually, to bring them to heights in Christ. When you pray such prayers, the first thing God will look at is your foundation to check if you have been taught the first principles of the oracles of God and if they have become life to you. They must become an impartation, a living experience for you, because I want you to know that these seven things we mentioned in the earlier post are not just meant to be taught theoretically, intellectually or theologically, they are meant for us to experience.
Therefore, we are trusting the Holy Spirit to help us present these principles in such a way that we will be able to experience them in our heart that they may impart the life of Christ to us. We want to come into these things not because we want to be educated in our minds but that our spirit man may be fed with the bread of life so that we will live them. In so doing, we will become what God has called us to be, sons and daughters of the living God otherwise we will remain at the same stage and be babes all our lives. I pray that the Lord will grant us this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is our heart’s desire that our purpose in this blog is to present to you Christ, His Church and His Cross because Christ is our spiritual food. He is our spiritual bread that we must feed on; the Scripture ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit is a means to feed on Christ. We do not want to be like the Pharisees whom Jesus said, You search the Scriptures you think by merely intellectually searching the Scripture or theologically searching the Scripture you think you have life. No! The Scripture is meant to point to Me, it is meant to bring you to Me! So our desire is that as we come to the Scripture, the Scripture will bring us to the Lord Jesus and link us with Him, that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection like Paul put it.
I pray that this will be our experience. God will not teach us something deeper if we don’t know the elementary principles;
Whom shall he teach knowledge and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast.”(Isaiah 28:9)
How will God teach us deep things of the Spirit of God, doctrines of the Spirit of God, things of Christ unless we are weaned from the milk and are no more babes? Unfortunately, many Christians are in this situation today. We have seen many people who are born again five years, 10 (Ten) years even more but they are babes; they have not been drawn from milk, they are still dwelling on these elementary principles.
I have been privileged to travel and to minister to Christians everywhere. You will be amazed to discover that what we are dealing with in these posts is so far removed from the experience of many Christians that they do not understand it. But I pray that the Lord will grant to us to lay hold on it.
